Lip favorites part 2

I've covered stains and balms, so the next two groups to review are lipsticks & glosses. Here are my personal picks:

From left to right: Victoria Secret perfect lipstick in Cabana, Maybelline Color Sensational in Mauve-ulous, M.A.C satin in Mocha, Loreal Color juice stick in Personali-tea, Lancome in All done up cream, and Maybelline moisture extreme lipstick in chestnut

Swatches correspond to above

1. Victoria Secret perfect lipstick, $13- I used to own this lipstick in the color Dusk, which is the absolute perfect brown but I sadly ran out of it and haven't gotten around to re-purchasing. Shown is the color Cabana, a bright orangey-coral. I wore this in the summer when I was more tan and it looked great paired with a peach blush. The one downside is that this wears off fairly quickly, but its very moisturizing and I love their color selection. Click here: VS

2. Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick, $ varies- Maybelline just may be my #1 favorite drugstore cosmetic brand. Their lip products are quality, and this lipstick is one of their best. I've gotten my best friend hooked on this particular color. You can dab it on or darken it and it's long lasting. I own this lipstick in three shades and love all of them. Their color selection is awesome. Click here: Maybelline

3. M.A.C Satin lipstick, $14.50- Mac lipstick is one of the ultimate staples, I think most beauty gurus can agree. This particular color is a mix of coral and brown and has a matte finish. This worked well for my skin tone in the summer. I definitely recommend any Mac lipstick. Click here: M.A.C

4. Loreal Color Juice Stick, ~$10- When Loreal discontinued this product, I was sooo disappointed. This was one of the first lipsticks I ever wore. It's extremely moisturizing, provides the glossy sheen of a lipgloss, has great pigmentation, and the best part is it's fragrance- extremely fruity! The only place to find this lipstick is on Amazon and other websites. I'm tempted to write a plea to the company for them to put it back on the market.

5. Lancome Color Design lipstick, $22- I got this lipstick for free during one of their promotional deals (I'll get more into this in my next post about makeup $ saving tips). This particular color, I've gotten tons of compliments on. It's THE prettiest pink. I usually gravitate more towards browns and deeper berries, but this pink one completely shifted my attention. I only wear it after lining with Lancome's lip pencil in the color Mauvelle (also came free). I'm not sure if I like it as much alone, but the liner makes it POP. Click here: Lancome

6. Maybelline Moisture extreme, $varies- Another Maybelline, top drug-store pick. This lipstick is extremely moisturizing, as they're marketing it, great pigmentation, and it smells like watermelon! A lot of people are turned off by the usual "grandma" waxy smell, understandably. The scent is very subtle, nothing overbearing. This particular color is a great nude. I used it on one of my models, Ali, for the fall eff.Y.bee look book, paired with a smokey eye and it looked great!

My lipgloss is poppin'

Lancome juicy tubes in Fruity pop, Makeup Forever lab shine in S2, & Mac lip glass in Revealing
I'm not much of a gloss person, I hate the stickiness, getting my hair stuck in it, etc. The only lipgloss I ever really fell in love with was Lancome's juicy tubes. Though they're extremely sticky, they last all day, literally, which is less than I can vouch for many other glosses I've tried. Fruity pop, and the sheen hot pink one to the right of it (can't find the color), are clear enough to go over any lip color and add a subtle sparkle and plump. They're $18, a little pricey but worth it. I've seriously had these forever- note: a little goes a LONG way.
As you can see, the makeup forever gloss I received as a free sample from Sephora. I tried it out, and love it! It's not sticky but it lasts all day. This particular color is a gorgeous peachy-pink and looked great layered over nude or mocha based colors. This product is also $18.
Mac's lip glass are another one of my staples. I've been using these since I was a freshman in high school. Like juicy tubes, they're very sticky but they're long-lasting. Revealing is my all-time favorite beige/nude.

Hope this review helped those of you on the search for a new lip product to try out!
